This is a typical bull found in the Camargue region of France.In
Arles, on the first of May , the people gather in the arena to watch and
participate in the famous ‘Course Camarguaises’ where a bull is let
out into the arena . The more courageous ones will try and untie the
ribbons that are attached to the bull’s horns but a lot of daring
skill is involved .
This painting is for an exhibition that I will be hosting in Arles for the ‘Feria’ in April. It is the first of a series of bull paintings.
